One of my favourite types of 'self-portrait' along with shadows and reflections - ones where I'm almost not in it! This is a POV (point-of-view) shot, as they say - you see what I see. Pretty exciting, right? Right.
A deliciously coffee-stained and scuffed photo taken just after the end of the world, 21st December 2012 version. With my one-day-old iPhone 5. Super. Just busy reloading all the apps I lost when I changed over. Good times...
Been meaning to get a good one of the eyes for ages. In the end it was me balancing the camera in front of me with my desk light for illumination, so leaves a bit to be desired but Uncle Nikon and Mr Paint Shop Pro have done me proud once again, at least as far as this blog is concerned.
I'm smiling, by the way. It does happen occasionally.
Strangely enough I was born in Scotland and distilled in London. The ad for J&B whisky says 'Born in London, distilled in Scotland' if you're wondering what the relevance of that fact is.
I'm wondering whether to actually carry on saying anything about these portraits here as I've decided to do any blah-blahing about this stuff and my paintings and poems over on my Abstract Mystic blog, but we'll see.
